Successfull cooperation: New mixing and dispensing system for GE Power Controls
A cooperation that yields fruit associates the companies RAMPF Dosiertechnik from Zimmern o. R. and GE Power Controls from Gent. It was the Black Forest skill of the producer of low-pressure mixing and dispensing systems that convinced the American partner. Since that, the supplier of electrical components saves time and expenses with a DR-CNC.
Previously GE Power Controls foamed electrical housings with an ancient mixing system. But the increasing maintenance efforts and frequent production downtimes urged an investment in new equipment. The solution was designed by RAMPF Dosiertechnik. „Our objective was to create a new high-performance system, where the existing part fixtures could be reintegrated“, describes Sales Director Hartmut Storz. According to the requirements of their clients the experts of RAMPF developed a system composed of three main elements:
- Fully automated dispensing system DR-CNC
- Low-maintenance mixing system MS-C
- Automatic part feeding and curing by conveyor system
Extreme low-maintenance
The productivity militates in favour for the new system. The needed production volume is now realized within two shifts instead of three. The MS-C is a compact, dynamic mixing system for precise meter, mix and dispensing. With a revolutionary, servo driven ceramic valve system, the MS-C sets new standards in productivity and reliabil-ity. The lean and compact design guarantees a higher degree of flexibility and allow for a dispensing of complex parts and applications. The integrated automatic nozzle shut-off system makes a drop-free dispensing of the polyurethane foam possible. The cleaning is effected by a rinse recycling system. Specific polyurethane cleaner is used. The advantage: the mixing head has to be cleaned much less frequent.
Easy handling
To assure a smooth production process, a coding for the tray is integrated. The identi-fication system detects automatically the type of part to be foamed. The dispensing system seals flexibly the electrical components with variable volumes. The operator retrieves the housing with a polymerized sealing. Thanks to the easy handling and the user friendly software the staff does not need extensive trainings.
„We trust in RAMPF Dosiertechnik. During the cooperation the team took care of us at best“, says Thomas Vantieghem, process engineer of GE Power Controls. The com-mendation is justified. RAMPF Dosiertechnik offered a stringent project management. Always taking a look at the goal: the best technical and economical customized solution.
